How to use your Novora SilkPulse™
Get the most out of your device with this simple routine. Ten minutes a week is all it takes.
Before your first session
- Charge fully using the included cable (about 2 hours).
- Shave the area you'll treat and pat it dry. IPL targets the root beneath the skin, so the surface should be clean and hair-free.
- Patch test first. Flash one spot at a low level and wait 24 hours to check how your skin responds.
- Put on the protective glasses included in the box — always wear them while flashing.
Your weekly routine
- Select an intensity level (start at 1–3, increase as you get comfortable — 9 levels total).
- Press the flat window flush against your skin; the contact sensor lets it flash only when in full contact.
- Work in slightly overlapping placements across the area — legs, underarms, arms, bikini line, stomach.
- Repeat 3 times a week for the first 4–6 weeks, then about once a week to maintain.
What to expect
- Weeks 1–3: regrowth slows and softens.
- Weeks 4–8: visibly less hair, bare patches spread.
- Weeks 8–12: smooth is your default — one quick session a week keeps it.
Safety notes
- Do not use on tattoos, moles, or freshly sun-exposed or sunburned skin.
- Avoid the eye area and anything above the cheekbones on the face.
- IPL works best on light-to-medium skin with dark hair; it isn't effective on blonde, red, grey, or white hair, or safe for very dark skin tones.
- If you are pregnant, nursing, or take photosensitizing medication, check with your doctor first.
Caring for the device
